Academic Life

To fulfill our mission of fundamentally changing our students, researchers, and external partners, we offer comprehensive academic opportunities, including about 190 undergraduate majors and preprofessional programs and more than 140 graduate programs, including certificates and master's, specialist, and doctoral degrees. Our programs in architecture, telecommunications, landscape architecture, education, entrepreneurship, and online master’s degree in nursing are consistently ranked among the best in the nation. That excellence is only possible because of the quality of our faculty and their commitment to teaching. More than 90 percent of our classes are taught by professors. That's almost unheard of at an institution of Ball State's size.

Facilities and Resources

Join one of many departmental and professional organizations to network in your major and gain experience in real-world career settings. There are more than 400 student organizations to pick from. From improv comedy to worldwide health care missions, there’s likely something to pique your interest. We’ll even help you start your own group. Intramural and club sports offer plenty of opportunities to get fit, be competitive, and even show off that jumpshot.

Admission

Admission to Ball State is competitive. We review each individual application to consider your academic performance, level of course work, standardized test scores, and extracurricular participation in high school. Ultimately, we aim to determine if you can be successful here.
